Gino Malacco

Gino has been employed with Hall Chadwick since February 1987. Gino’s dedication and expertise in the Tax and Business services in the firm saw him promoted to a Manager in August 1994, an Associate in August 1997 and finally a Partner in 2001. During this period, Gino has seen the role of an Accountant changing, “during my earlier years, I concentrated on understanding the compliance issues of accounting. I believe this is an important part of being an Accountant, as one must first understand the fundamentals in order to advise on accounting and business related matters.” “However, as we live in an era of constantly changing taxation and compliance law, the days of just being a Compliance Accountant are gone. Accountants must not only look after the compliance requirements of clients, but they must be able to advise on issues of taxation and business on a pro active basis.” Gino provides expert advice in numerous areas of taxation. He can provide insightful guidance on business taxation, business and investment structuring, capital gains tax, international tax planning, transfer pricing, salary packaging and executive issues, fringe benefits tax, prudential tax audits and requests for rulings. Over his career Gino has had extensive taxation experience advising on domestic and international tax issues to a wide range of clients including property, manufacturing, retail, financial services, travel and construction clients for SMEs, listed corporations and foreign corporations. “A satisfying aspect of the work I do is when I advise clients on how to arrange their affairs to comply with the law and save money. Getting involved in important decisions before they occur is what clients should use their accountants for, not trying to unravel a transaction that has occurred or make the best out of a done deal.”
